Subject: [Octave-bug-tracker] [bug #65406] functions in current directory don't take precedence over load path

Update of bug #65406 (group octave):

                Category:              Test Suite => Interpreter
                  Status:                    None => Confirmed
                 Summary: pkg test statistics fails include testing shadowed
functions with core equivalents? => functions in current directory don't take
precedence over load path

Follow-up Comment #4:

Attached is a minimal reproducer (independent of any package): Un-zip the
archive, cd to `test-load-path` and run `test_load_path`.

The expected behavior is (probably) that the second function call returns
"not-in-load-path". The actual behavior with a current build from the head of
the stable branch is that it returns "in-load-path".

I see the same behavior all the way back to Octave 4.2.2. So at least, it's
not a regression.

In Matlab R2023b (after adapting to compatible syntax), the second function
call returns "not-in-load-path". So, that's a difference in behavior.
