Good.  One down.  

The submitted patch specification has face & vertex but not xdata, ydata,
zdata.  

I don't do software.  I can only ask questions.  

Do you convert users' input into a uniform representation before calling 3rd
party software?  Out of the handler, there are duplicated info.  Which of the
geometry and color related are used?  If x,y,z are used and users' spec did
not include them, does Octave generate those or 3rd party tool?
