Follow-up Comment #13, bug #65442 (group octave):

@Pantxo: Do you want to apply your patch, even if incomplete, to resolve this
bug?  Or should I apply mine and you can overwrite it when yours is ready?

Given that this is a bug and needs to be fixed on stable, while additional
functionality should go on the development branch, you might want to split the
patch anyways or just apply mine right now to stable.
