Subject: | [Pan-users] [PATCH] configurable quoting character |
Date: | Mon, 5 Aug 2002 14:54:27 +0100 |
The attached patch allows the user to configure their quoting character through Tools >> Posting Profiles. The default character is still ">". It also fixes a small bug when quoting messages: The standard behaviour for Pan is to quote all lines with "> ", unless the line begins with a ">" already. This seems sensible enough, but surely it is better instead to test if the line starts with *any* recognised quoting character -- ie: ">" or "|" or ":" or "}" for example. The fix tests using the is_quote_char function already defined in pan/base/base-prefs.h instead of just checking for a ">" at the start of the line. Patch is against 0.12.93. Any chance of it getting into the main package? :-) Also attached, two *tiny* pictures of the effects of the patch. -- Toby A Inkster BSc ARCS PGP: http://www.goddamn.co.uk/tobyink/node.cgi?id=12 Web Page: http://www.goddamn.co.uk/tobyink/ IM: AIM:inka80 ICQ:6622880 YIM:tobyink Jabber:address@hidden An Italian is COMBING his hair in suburban DES MOINES!
