The newer screenshots (the 0.13.2 ones) at http://pan.rebelbase.com/screenshots/
were made with a stock Red Hat 8.0 box, and IMO it looks pretty nice.
However, I hadn't heard of Xig before... is it a free competitor to XFree86?
