I'm back to testing GZIP compression with Supernews in the latest git.  When I do Get New Headers In Subscribed Groups, it queues all the header downloads and goes into 100% CPU usage.  I have to kill it to stop it.  I have around 40-50 groups in my subscribed list.  Anybody else seeing this?

Please don't try this as I didn't have time to debug it yet. Perhaps sometime in the next two months.

No worries, I just wanted to report it, thank you for fixing it. I tried building it in Mac OS X (10.8.5) and it does not work either, so it does not appear Ubuntu- or GNOME-specific.
