Hi Uttam,

hmmmm, the README file is out of date. A new one has just been commited. The "make demo" technique is also out of date:

 1) "make" in the top directory to compile all the tools.

 2) "./paparazzi" to run the Paparazzi Center

 3) Select the "MJ5" or the "TJ1" aircraft in the upper-left A/C
combo box. Select "sim" from upper-middle "target" combo box. Click
"Build". When the compilation is finished, select "Simulation" from
the upper-right session combo box and click "Execute".

 4) In the GCS, wait about 10s for the aircraft to be in the "Holding
point" navigation block. Switch to the "Takeoff" block (lower-left
blue airway button in the strip). Takeoff with the green launch button.

Note for "old" users: When the Paparazzi Center is used, there is usually no need to set the environment variables (PAPARAZZI_SRC and PAPARAZZI_HOME).

Hi guys,

I'm typing this mail from Ubuntu! So the internet is setup, envy did its job ( in manual mode though ). Paparazzi dev and arm7 packages were downloaded, and the cvs source code installed. I compiled it using make and then tried to see if paparazzi center started up, it did. So, generally, everything here seems to be working, BUT, the simulation does not run. When I say make demo, it raises an error towards the end saying Twin1 cant be found in conf.xml. I looked at the airframes folder, and there is no Twin1 there, and there is no Twin1 mentioned in the conf.xml file either. I tried to be smart and created a duplicate of one of the other airframe files and saved it as Twin1. It gives the following error when I run make demo: ( only the last bit gives this error )

cd sw/airborne; make PAPARAZZI_SRC=/home/dcenterprises/paparazzi/paparazzi3 PAPARAZZI_HOME=/home/dcenterprises/paparazzi/paparazzi3 TARGET=sim ARCHI=sim all
CC /home/dcenterprises/paparazzi/paparazzi3/var/Twin1/sim/fw_h_ctl.o
fw_h_ctl.c: In function ‘h_ctl_init’:
fw_h_ctl.c:110: error: ‘H_CTL_COURSE_PGAIN’ undeclared (first use in this function)
fw_h_ctl.c:110: error: (Each undeclared identifier is reported only once
fw_h_ctl.c:110: error: for each function it appears in.)
fw_h_ctl.c:112: error: ‘H_CTL_ROLL_MAX_SETPOINT’ undeclared (first use in this function) fw_h_ctl.c:126: error: ‘H_CTL_PITCH_PGAIN’ undeclared (first use in this function) fw_h_ctl.c:127: error: ‘H_CTL_PITCH_DGAIN’ undeclared (first use in this function) fw_h_ctl.c:129: error: ‘H_CTL_ELEVATOR_OF_ROLL’ undeclared (first use in this function) make[2]: *** [/home/dcenterprises/paparazzi/paparazzi3/var/Twin1/sim/fw_h_ctl.o] Error 1
make[1]: *** [sim] Error 2
make: *** [ac1] Error 2

Anyone know whats happening? I understand the errors, but I don't know how to fix them here!

Thanks in advance,
Uttam

Did it work with 64bit (network)? "no internet" doesn't really mean bad drivers. Do you get green lights on the card itself (i.e. physical connection is valid)? What does: ifconfig command return?

I have yet to have Ubuntu not install network properly. I have many times had issues trying to setup wireless correctly, never driver level, just getting WEP/WPA other encrypted stuff working right.

Quite possibly this is simply settings not drivers.

Dave,

Envy sounds good. I installed the 32 bit already, and I think something is wrong with the Network interface card drivers. I simply have no internet! I spent all of yesterday trying to sort the problem, no luck :(

Uttam,

I saw this: "Hi,

Thanks. I tried the 64bit architecture and it did not recognize my NIC, or the graphic drivers. When I look at the installed devices, I see a lot of "unknowns". I am downloading the x86 version now, hopefully I can get the internet and graphics working in the x86 version.

-Thanks,
Uttam"

You should be okay with 64bit. You just have to install the 32bit compilers and libraries so you can compile it in 32 bit. I say this because on my Desktop (AMD64) I installed 64bit Ubuntu but wanted to install sound drivers that were only 32 bit. I googled and found directions to install/compile the 32 bit and it worked fine. I imagine the same would be the case for the paparazzi. Did you try "envy" it's amazing, really, just trust me if you have nVidia graphics even if Ubuntu recognizes it...you want to run Envy...trust me. It downloads the right sources based on your system then recompiles them and even sets up the X config files. I now will only use nVidia cards because I know I have Envy to do the proper setup/config.

    Hi Uttam,

I have been following the Paparazzi list for some time. I want to
create Gerber files but am having issues. I was trying to follow your directions but you don't list
specifically what layers to add or what layers to check in the
layer list when editing the gerber job...

Can you please email me your gerber file you were sent? I need to
have some FAB myself and worry I will send an inappropriate file.
    Best Regards,
    David Conger
