Hi,support for the small/cheap MediaTek MT3329 [1] was committed to git some time ago but had no chance to test it. We flew it today and it worked fine. It can be enabled setting
<subsystem name="gps" type="mediatek_diy">and supports both DIYDrones protocols (1.4/1.6). The protocols could be improved a lot...both are missing climb rates so that we have to calculate them using altitude (which causes no issue).
The GPS receiver could be easily knocked out with long spins. It then still outputs new position data but stays at the same altitude. In a direct comparison u-blox receivers are more robust.
