Yes, an addressbook certainly should provide functionality for
defining groups of people.
The "email composer" webservice component can then pull the
email addresses (of the group members) from the addressbook
and use them as recipient email addresses.
This way, other webservice components can also make use of
these groups. For example, we will want to have a file
storage/retrieval system that allows remote storage of files, so
that you can to give others limited or full access rights. Then
you could give all members of your group "friends" read access
to a specific document, and then send an email to group
"friends" telling them about this document.
