A package was submitted to savannah.nongnu.org
This mail was sent to address@hidden, address@hidden

renzo davoli <address@hidden> described the package as follows:
License: gpl
Other License:
Package: Application Level Environment for Networ
System name: ale4net
Type: non-GNU

Description:
Ale4NET: Application Level Environment for Networking. Using Ale4NET IP
addresses can be assigned to single applications or group of applications.
Ale4NET works at user level: neither kernel modification nor root access is
needed to start Ale4NET. You can use your favourite applications on Ale4NET by
just setting one single Environment Variable. It can be used to create user
level VPN, to use IPv6 on a machine that does not have IPv6 support in the
kernel, to test the communication with virtual machines without using the
tuntap interface.... Everything can be done as standard user: no root access
required.

Ale4NET Alpha source code can be downloaded at:
http://www.bononia.it/~renzo/keap/ale4net0.0.3.tgz
Ale4NET is released under the GPL.

Ale4NET includes a user-mode IPv6 stack named LWIP-V6 which is a fork
from the project LWIP (already on non-gnu savannah
https://savannah.nongnu.org/projects/lwip) and uses some Alpine4Linux
(http://www.vzavenue.net/~neelnatu/alpine4linux/) code.
Alpine4Linux has been released in the public domain (there is just a note in
the header saying "Neelkanth Natu (address@hidden) is the author of this file.
As long as you keep this blurb in the file, feel free to do whatever.").
Whatever includes to modify it and to re-release everything under the GPL. The
"blurp" has been maintained as weel as any credit for previous work.

Other Software Required:
Virtual Distributed Ethernet -- vde
It has been released released under the GPL.
