side of things, you have known issues/bugs with SD with bug reports
and tracking etc. Moving to the other codebase your likely to have
some fixed but some other breakages but its unknown from a
users/distro point of view. From existing known bugs/issues your
basically starting from scratch. Merging patches/features/fixes one by
one into the current existing codebase allows for some form of
regression testing etc. While I know it was originally the same code
base and they've diverged and this is the reconvergence its not a mass
rename of functions and other changes on top of that. So a move to a
differing codebase is likely to fix some things, break others.
