Hi Steve and all.
My problem regarding speech-dispatcher and orca not speaking in the
login screen was solved.
I created the following directory structure inside /var/lib/gdm.
.local/lib/python2.6/site-packages/
There is a . (dot) before the local.
Inside this directory I created a file named mypath.pth with the
following content:
/usr/local/lib/python2.6/dist-packages/
