see my original commit message. I did not include them because of the
patch I'm also working on to separate the modules into separate
subdirectorys. If I include a .gitignore file for the module binaries,
I will have to delete that in the next patch I'm working on and create a
separate one in each module's subdirectory.
I can go back and add a .gitignore file under modules if you want.
