I can work on this.
However, the generic module also doesn't permit one to set the synthesis
voice. The list of synthesis voices is what you get with module_list_voices().
By itself, module_list_voices() isn't very useful.
Am I making any sense at all?

You should be able to choose among the generic voices for a given
language. E.G., male1, female1, et cetera.
