But also festival-freebsoft-utils
(https://github.com/brailcom/festival-freebsoft-utils) must be installed
and set up to make it work with Speech Dispatcher properly, plus some
language files, IIRC.

Never mind, if you cannot test it, no problem, spelling wouldn’t be
available to you anyway.  It would still be useful to know whether the
current speechd-el master (available e.g. from MELPA) works OK after my
recent cleanups and fixes so that I can make a release.
