Thanks again.  I'm working from an older tag and I've also got to clean
up in case I have experiments in effect that I forgot.  I doubt I messed
with that stuff but who knows.  I'm going to try to update to head of the
tree as well.  I'm relieved to hear "it's not supposed to be so" --
