You seem to believe you have firm self control and don't need
this feature to help you resist unnecessary spending.
Perhaps that's true -- in your case.  Good on you.

But there are many adults who don't have that strength
and could benefit from this help as much as children do.

Here's another variant: do this randomly around 10% of payments.
Maybe that would have much of the same good effect
but people would not bother to turn it off.
