echo area information during file transfer

--bug report follows this line--

when I use the scp method to transfer files, it asks for the password
and starts transferring the file. However, tramp then echos "sending
password" during the entire file transfer operation. This isn't
really a bug, but it would be nice to have the echo area say
"transferring file" and perhaps even giving a percentage information,
as is done by ange-ftp.
