Yes, Tramp has upgraded from 2.0 to 2.1 in the trunk.
I cannot reproduce it here. Could you, please, set tramp-verbose to 8,
and send the Tramp debug buffer once the problem happens again? See
(info "(tramp)Bug Reports") for details.
