Yes, that seems to be the problem. See the Tramp manual at
<http://www.gnu.org/software/tramp/#Remote-shell-setup>, especially the
discussion around my-tramp-prompt-regexp.
Note that it might require Tramp 2.1 (I haven't tested this
configuration with Tramp 2.0).
