Could you, please, show the ange-ftp connection buffer? Do you see,
which user name has been taken for authentication?
How does your .netrc entry looks like? You could mask your password, of
course :-)

And you are asked for the user name / password interactively, yes? Does
it also work with an appropriate .netrc entry, silently?
