error found with latest (2.2.12) version on non Linux hosts

Hello,
just upgraded to version 2.2.12 and suddenly getting this error in 
messages buffer:
byte-code: `/bin/sh -l -c 'echo f3741e22b8b80b555d0f8445582a1250 
\"$PATH\"'' returns with error


And the explanation is 
$ /bin/sh -l -c 'echo f3741e22b8b80b555d0f8445582a1250 \"$PATH\"'
-l: bad option(s)

(remote host is an AIX host BTW)
