That's fine.  I'm sure someone will let us know if there is an 
obviously better way than what I'm using

That's cool.  I've just downloaded the tar.gz for the whole she-bang.  
Is there a cvs repo somewhere for it?

No problems.  I just hate typing the same thing over and over again, 
and by sharing it a few people might extend on it further, making our 
lives even easier.
