Done.
I was lucky enough to find a cached version of our page, accessed
through a proxy:

I'll keep a copy of that cached version on my home directory on
fencepost, for future reference. I guess the web copy will be
overwritten soon.
The page as cached contained modified links, referring pages on the
local proxy. I carefully scanned the page and fixed every link;
everything should be OK now, except for the footer, which I have no idea
how to automatically update without the #include magic on www.gnu.org.
I've noticed a few minor mistakes in the file, but I've not fixed them;
I've just added HTML comments.
