At this point, I am just starting the sourceforge site. So how
we set it up can vary a great deal.

The key to the process is coming to a developer consensus on how
the group can best work together for the greater good.

To me, some of the big advantages of Sourceforge are that:
1. Any new people will quite possibly already have accounts there
2. The interface is likely to be familiar

Coming from that, I'd like to see us use Sourceforge where possible. Sourceforge will cope immediately with most of what we want:
- Mailing lists
- Website
- Version control
- Bug tracking

The only thing we might need to do something about is the wiki.

Having said all that, I'm also seeing strong opinions for Subversion and against CVS. I most likely wouldn't be a cfengine developer, but I submitted a patch once. My point is, I already know how to use CVS. But if I had a patch I wanted submitted, I'd ask the mailing list (unless it was on the FAQ/Wiki/whatever) how to do a Subversion submission.

I guess what I'm saying is that we should carefully consider before doing anything that a "normal" Sourceforge site doesn't.

        :)
