configure problem - not building df - coreutils 5.2.1

I'm using the following versions of automake and autoconf:
autoconf-2.59
automake-1.95
I configured using the following options:
--prefix=/opt/coreutils_mips --host=mipsel-unknown-linux-gnu

make output no errors or warnings, but df didn't build and I don't 
understand autoconf and automake well enough to determine why not.
