Hi,
I've been trying to use sed (v3.02) to operate on HTML files. It appears that
the "<" and ">" cannot be used in substitutions. Of course this makes using sed
for this purpose pretty pointless. Hopefully I've been doing something wrong,
but if so, I can't figure it out. Escaping the symbols shouldn't be necessary,
but even that doesn't seem to help.
My previous exposure to sed was UNIX system V, so there may lie the problem. If
this a bug, fine, but if it's usage, I would appreciate a pointer. The man page
didn't seem to help.
Thanks,
Greg Henderson
