Hi People,
Since some time (dunno when) there are options-characters reserved for:
y per-file gzip compression
Y per-block gzip compression
Is there some reason beyond my scope why these features are not implemented?
Or are they not implemented because noone allready did it?
Should it limited to gzip or implemet bzip2 / generic-compression too?
Imo there are alot of benefits in using block/file compression in favor the
actual global compression.
Please may anyone give me a favour about the state if the things. I'm actually
didn't looked deep in the tar-sources, but if there is no reason for not to
implement these features i will take a closer look towards hacking it by myself.
cya Christian
