grep version 2.5g - problems with $

Hello,

I've used following command:
grep -i -e '.cpp$' test.pjt        

with the file test.pjt containing:
hello
.\main.cpp
.\main.c 
gnagna

with the version 2.4.2 the output was correct:
.\main.cpp

but with the newset version 2.5g the output is empty.
