Hello.

The following report has been reassigned to the Debian diff package.
[ Please keep the Cc: lines when replying ].
Thanks.

When I type "info patch", info doesn't find the Texinfo node:

(diff)Invoking Patch

So, info leads to the manual page.
The problem is, I don't know how to correct it.
The problem seems to appear for diff3 as well.

The info file is in diff, reassigning. I don't really think this is a
bug though. 'Invoking Patch' is an item in node diff, so you can get it
with info diff 'invoking patch'. Note that the info manual is rather
outdated though, so you will probably want to use the man page anyway.

and the bug was reassigned to `diff'.

I tried to fix this problem by not passing an explicit --description
option to install-info, as the Debian package used to do, but the
result is this one:

install-info: warning, ignoring confusing INFO-DIR-ENTRY in file.

The info file says:

START-INFO-DIR-ENTRY
Diff: (diff). Comparing and merging files.
END-INFO-DIR-ENTRY

INFO-DIR-SECTION Individual utilities
START-INFO-DIR-ENTRY
* cmp: (diff)Invoking cmp.                      Byte-by-byte diff.
* diff3: (diff)Invoking diff3.                  Three-way diff.
* patch: (diff)Invoking patch. Automatically applying diffs.
* sdiff: (diff)Invoking sdiff. Interactively merge files.
END-INFO-DIR-ENTRY

Is this really ok, or is this a bug in Debian's install-info?
