I use Norton Internet Security (which include AVC) and to me I think
Craig expressed himself incorrectly

When you download a file it will be scanned by
Norton after the download and
when it it don't trust the download it put the download in quarantaine and
you will get the message why. It happened me a few times with an installer
of gnubg where I got the message it was put in quarantaine in all those cases I got the message ws.reputation. Which actually means that is was not downloaded
very often. The solution is very simple.
Get the download out of the quarantaine, check the checkbox where it ask not to scan it in the future.
and to be sure perform a manual scan and when nothing found just install.

Lucas

maybe Craig should reinstall his scanner just in case it might be damaged.

Exactly what version did you download? I ran 1.05.000 (and the
development version) through http://virustotal.com and nothing is
reported (including the Norton(Symantec) Anti Virus Check). If you let
me know which version I can put in a request to Norton (We have done it
previously) to flag our download as legitimate.

Thanks.
