About non-deterministic and deterministic noise
Yyesterday I did run 3 * 25 1-pointers
I used a dicefile so every game had the same rolls
25 matches where both bots were set at the level advanced. So noise and
deterministic.
to me it was before I started clear that it would result in 25 equal games.
25 matches where bots bots set at the same level but turnoff the
deterministic
As far I did understand the Box Müller transform it should result in
non-equal games
and it did indeed there was not any equal game
25 matches 1 bot as above advanced and 1 with deterministic off
which as in expected also resulted in 25 different games.
Non-deteministic add an option (in noise) which can't be achieved with any
other
option/setting in gnubg
To me, as non- der.. will not play always the same move in the same
position
is the just reason to keep the (an extra) option non-deterministic in gnubg.
When we take an extra option out of the game just to simplify something
and an extra option is not enough reason to keep it in the game and we are
acting
accordingly to all other options we will, just simplifing things, end up
with, just
thinking ad absurbum, with only one option f.e. 1 point match at 2 ply etc
