Portable replacement function for `trunc'? |

Hi,
I was looking for a portable replacement of `trunc' for systems where
it is not be available. I saw that gnulib had that (http://
www.gnu.org/software/gnulib/manual/html_node/trunc.html) so I tried
to use it somehow. It's the first time I borrow something from
gnulib so I went through the manual first. I eventually git-clone'd
gnulib and I was startled that git grep trunc did not show where the
replacement function was. "Fair enough" I though, I created a dummy
configure.ac and Makefile.am in an empty directory and, from there,
invoked path/to/gnulib-tool --import trunc. It did what it was meant
to do but there was still no trace of `trunc' in my source tree
(`grep -r trunc .' did not show anything else than the trace of the
invocation of gnulib-tool itself).
Am I missing something?
