Details:

Compiling grub2 from cvs 28 Mar 2008 on damnsmalllinux (kernel 2.4.31) with
gcc-3.3.5, bison-1.875

Using:
$ export LDFLAGS=-L/opt/grub-2/lib [lzo libs/headers here]
$ export CPPFLAGS="-I/opt/compile-3.3.5/include -I/opt/grub-2/include"

$./configure --prefix=/opt/grub-2
$ make
...
gcc -Inormal -I./normal -I. -Iinclude -I./include -Wall -W  -Wall -W -Wshadow
-Wpointer-arith -Wmissing-prototypes                  -Wundef
-Wstrict-prototypes -g -Os -falign-jumps=1 -falign-loops=1 -falign-functions=1
-fno-builtin -mrtd -mregparm=3 -m32 -MD -c -o normal_mod-normal_cmdline.o
normal/cmdline.c
bison -d -p grub_script_yy -b grub_script ./normal/parser.y
make: *** [grub_script.tab.h] Broken pipe

Does grub2 require a certain version of bison?

Note also that even though m4 is in the path, unless m4 is /usr/bin/,the
compile fails with:

autom4te: need GNU m4 1.4 or later: /usr/bin/m4
