Gnus/5.11 (Gnus v5.11) Emacs/22.0.50 (gnu/linux) |
hi folks,
I've somewhat successfully ported the pcmcia-core, the i82365 bridge
driver as well as the pcnet_cs (NE-2000 compatible cards) driver from
Linux's card services to gnumach (not oskit, but the gnumach-1-branch).
The "success" already has been announced on #hug last wednesday,
however azeem convinced me, that it'd be a good idea to announce it
here as well. so here we go :-)
For the moment only the pcnet_cs driver works well; getting other
ethernet cards (non-wireless) to work actually shouldn't be too hard.
Some more information is available from here:
http://brokenpipe.de/hp/wiki.cgi/MachWithPcmciaSupport
The latest patch itself is available from here:
http://brokenpipe.de/hp/download/patches/gnumach-pcmcia_alpha7.patch.gz
The patch applies against the latest gnumach debian package (after
`debian/rules patch' being applied). Please mind that card removal is
_not_ supported (maybe yet).
In case of any questions feel free to contact me.
cheers,
stesie
