feature request: MIDI panning

Hi,

I'd like to suggest a feature that in my opinion should be added to
LilyPond's MIDI support: panning (i.e. whether a voice should sound more
from one speaker than the other; for example one voice could be set to sound
only from left speaker, second voice only from right speaker and a third one
that would sound from both).
Of course I can modify a midi file with an external editor, but i want to
make this process more automated (for example i have many SSAATTBB choir
pieces and for each piece i want to make 8 midi files: each one with one of
the voices in the left channel and all other voices in the right channel.
What do you think about it?
