Ah, I searched the mailing list for "sha3" not "sha-3", sorry about the
duplicate.
For what it's worth, Perl has a working sha3sum already.
http://search.cpan.org/~mshelor/Digest-SHA3-0.02/sha3sum
It obviously has Perl dependencies, so a binary sha3sum would be ideal.
