Hi Folks,

I am curious as to your thoughts about getting settled down for the next
release. Given the new rcs performance improvement and the bugfix for
problems with a new client against an old server, I would like to see a
new release sooner than later.

At present, I think I am seeing the following:

 - windows - fatal error U1077 for no reasons I understand
 + GNU/Linux x86_64 works
 + GNU/Linux i686 works
 + GNU/Linux ppc64 works with warnings
 - NetBSD-2.0.2 i386 seems to be messed up somehow
 - GNU/Linux 2.2.0 alpha broken on basica-o7 (abort signal)
 + Solaris 9 sparc works
 + FreeBSD 4.11 i686 works
 + FreeBSD 6.1 i386 works

I have not seen a BSD/OS build recently.
I have not seen a MacOS X PowerPC recently.
I have never seen a MacOS X i386 build.
I hae never seen a Solaris x86 build.

Other than a refresh of diffutils and maybe the
newtags stuff, are there any big features left
to do before we start trying to build release
candidates for promotion of 1.12.x to STABLE?

(We are mostly up-to-date with regard to GNULIB.)
