gdb: cannot open /dev/pts/1

Hi,

I got the following error when starting ddd 3.1.4 together 
with gdb 4.18. on a Suse Linux 6.2

gdb: cannot open /dev/pts/1: Eingabe-/Ausgabefehler
gdb: child communication setup failed

I already set
Ddd*set blockTTYInput: off
in .ddd/init

Any help is appreciated.
