Disabling Tip of the Day window

Hello,

I am trying to keep the tip of the day from showing up on startup as
I am finding it somewhat annoying. I tried doing the following:
Edit -> Preferences -> Startup -> Startup Windows
-> deseclect Tip of the Day
However when I then exit ddd and start it again the window is still there.
I am running Red Hat 7.0 with ddd version 3.3.1.
