This is good. The button means that arranger is set to nothing, and you
should be able to click on it if you change your mind and want to set it
to something. If you cannot the installation is broken (or denemo.0.8.22
has a bug :)

This installation would seem to be broken. Can you hide ~/.denemo and
try again. I think an old version may be breaking things.

cd
mv ~/.denemo ~/.denemoHIDDEN
and re-run denemo.
You will have to re-set ctrl-k unfortunately.
