difficulty with electric, kde3/qt3

I'm having a little difficulty getting Electric 6.06 to build on my system 
(Suse 8.0/kde 3). 
Some of this, I'm sure is just 'newbie trouble', but I'd appreciate some help.

I assume that as kde is built on Qt, I should be trying to build the Qt 
variant. Is that corrrect? 
At first I was having difficulty in that 'moc' was not found. There is a moc on 
my system (actually incorrect; there are TWO mocs on my system a qt 2.3.2 and a 
qt 3.0.3 moc, but I assume that only the 3.0.3 one comes into question, as it 
is almost certain that my kde 3 system will be built against a qt 3 moc) but 
its not anywhere in the path; so I have added a symbolic link to it in 
/opt/kde3/bin, which  is in the path, and that looks as if it has made the 
initial problem go away. (I include this info. in case it helps in future 
releases; I would have been helped had there been a clearer error message, or 
an install guide refence to this problem; but then this is the first time that 
I have compiled an application this complex from source.)

Having got past that problem, I still have a problem. I get the following 
output, which may help someone, but that person is not me. I've omitted all the 
'includes' that come first, as I assume that they don't give helpful info. If 
that was a mistake, I could post the info.

It looks as if the hard problem is in 'src/tec/tecmocmos.o(.text+0x2f35)' and 
its reference to 
`tech_initmaxdrcsurround(void)', but I have no clue as to what to do about it. 
Also, I'm not going to worry about mktemp and mkstemp; should someone be 
worrying about them?
