They don't hold the trademark on MikeRowSoft.com either, but that does
not prevent its lawyer army to harass an adolescent.

There is already a project at SourceForge called "MediaPlayer Classic" which is a clone of the media player that came with Windows 98. If Microsoft hasn't harassed its maintainers, for it is a rather popular program, I doubt they would care about something from the tiny GNUstep world.
