I gave a try to version 0.4.3 and ncftpls returns a timeout:

Could not directory listing data -- timed out.
Running 'ncftpls -F -t 30 -u 'srvbck' -p '???' -l
'ftp://address@hidden/array1/homebck0/'' failed (attempt #1)

Of course, if I increase the timeout to 60 seconds, it works correctly
(I really have a lot of files...)
