Yes, I extracted Emacs from CVS to a fresh place and made bootstrap. There is
something I am missing in this puzzle, since ./emacs -q -g 50x50 worked as
expected. Do you have any Emacs resources set in .Xdefaults? Do you have some
app-defaults file for Emacs? Is it the same if you add --no-site-file?
