    Is it possible this is the only mode which appends enough to the  
    normal editing set to wrap?  I find it hard to believe.

It seems quite plausible to me, because I think very few parts of
Emacs add any tool bar icons.

The idea of putting a "line break" into the tool bar sounds interesting
for after the release.
