It currently doesn't have any value on w32, because there are not enough developers familiar enough with w32 to devote time to it, so at best it works exactly the same as the last trunk revision it was merged with, at worst it is horribly broken and does not compile. But w32 currently supports -nw operation in a single w32 text console so the potential value is the same as other platforms.
