One problem is that the "demands" seem harsh mostly because you are
literally too busy to cater for them (as far as I can tell, most of
those demands do not ask for action on your behalf but rather for the
setting of policies.  Of course, those are something not well done in
haste and under pressure either).  A similar thing holds for their
perceived repetitiveness.  Since the amount of time and likely also
concentration you can spend catering for the Emacs project has become
more spotty and limited, it is a good thing that you are looking for a
successor in its maintenance.

In the meantime, people are trying to get an idea how to continue
work.
