[ To any NSA and FBI agents reading my email: please consider
[ whether defending the US Constitution against all enemies,
[ foreign or domestic, requires you to follow Snowden's example.
If there are multiple threads, the sleep may switch threads and cause
the timer to run in a different dynamic environment.
This suggests that a timer should be associated with a thread,
and should run its callback in that thread.
