There's no requirement to inform the FreeType team of your decision. Just
choose a licence and abide by its terms.

(Disclaimer: I'm not a part of that team)

I'm sure they would be curious what you use FreeType for though.

Hello,

I am a software developer working for a manufacturer in Japan, and I'd like to
ask a question.
"license.txt" in the FreeType software package says that a licensee must choose
one license between FTL and GPL, but what should
s/he do after choosing one licesne?
Does s/he have to contact to the FreeType project team, or is there any other
action to take?
I'd appreciate it if you could give me a reply.
Thank you.

Best Regards,
Shinya Kuratomi
